Session Description
This one-day training will cover how to evaluate whether a treatment facility makes sense for your business; what financial institutions are going to look for when you seek a loan; what regulators are going to need; and how to select an engineer when the time comes to put your plan on paper. You will learn about treatment processes, review case histories from successful facilities, and develop an understanding of the economics of a treatment facility.
About Tom Ferrero
Tom Ferrero, owner of Elkhart Environmental Processing Corp, has wide-ranging experience in the onsite industry, from septic pumping, to enforcement, to developing a pretreatment facility. From 1970 to 1998 he owned and managed a full-service septic system company. Ferrero has held leadership positions in industry associations on a local, state and national level. He is a past president and current secretary of NAWT. Ferrero has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.

Session Description
This two-day, in-depth training program provides the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to conduct thorough, standardized inspections based on the NAWT national standards. Participants will learn to perform inspections for key applications, including transfer of title, operations and maintenance, and regulatory compliance. Emphasis is placed on using standardized procedures to evaluate each system component, interpret findings, and arrive at defensible conclusions about the condition and functionality of the system. Through guided instruction and hands-on exercises, attendees will gain the ability to identify deficiencies, document inspections accurately, and communicate results effectively.
About Kim Seipp
Kim Seipp has been in the onsite wastewater industry since the early 1980s. She and her husband own and operate a septic tank cleaning and inspection business in Colorado. Seipp worked with CPOW to help create training and educational opportunities for both industry professionals and homeowners. She is a past president and current educational coordinator of NAWT and helps state associations and professionals in the industry develop training, education and certification programs. Seipp has a BSBA in business administration and management.

Session Description
This one-day course provides new and experienced technicians alike with a solid base of information regarding working with and operating a vacuum truck, along with performing daily tasks. Topics include materials to pump and to avoid, government regulations, truck equipment and components, drive and control mechanisms, basic and advanced pumpout skills and procedures, loading and unloading, safety and emergency response plans, customer interaction and education, basic science of vacuum and pressurization, pumps, basic pump truck operations, and manifests and reporting.
About Jeff Rachlin
Jeff Rachlin is a partner in OnSite Management, Inc., a full-service onsite service system company. Rachlin is a member of the Pennsylvania Septage Management Association’s Education Committee as well as the National Association of Wastewater Technicians’ Education Committee. He serves on the board of directors for the PSMA and is PSMA’s appointed representative to the NAWT board of directors. He is currently NAWT treasurer and is a board member of the National Onsite Foundation. Along with multiple certifications and professional licences, Rachlin also received the Ralph Macchio Lifetime Achievement Award in 2023.
45th Anniversary Reunion Celebration
The Pumper & Cleaner Expo 45th Anniversary Reunion Celebration will be held Oct. 6 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the exhibition hall at the Nashville Fairgrounds.
The reunion and celebration will feature live entertainment, complimentary beer and a cash bar, offering attendees a relaxed networking opportunity. Anyone who has ever attended a past event is encouraged to share stories and catch up with old friends.
